In the fine print
Conditions from Airwallex's own terms, pricing pages and acceptable-use policy that don't fit in a table. Read in full and checked by hand.
Pricing
- PHP is available for payouts and collections only (via InstaPay/PESONet, with a 0.30% receiving fee), not as a local account.
- FX conversions have both a floor and a ceiling: minimum $10 and maximum $5,000,000 per conversion. Both are account-level defaults that support can change on request.
- Outgoing SWIFT transfers are priced as a range, €10 to €20 per transfer depending on whether the SHA or OUR fee option is used, rather than as one fixed amount.
Limits
- The $50,000 card transaction limit is a default, not a hard cap: it can be customised per card, with separate daily, weekly and monthly limits.
- Some Global Account currencies, such as the Indonesian rupiah (IDR), are subject to regulatory deposit limits and to mandatory auto-conversion.
- Airwallex states on its marketing pages that the CAD Global Account carries no transaction limits and no additional industry limits.
Payments & transfers
- Incoming SWIFT deposits to Global Accounts are subject to restricted-country lists that depend on where the Global Account is hosted: a large list (176 countries) applies to Denmark-based Global Accounts, and a separate list of 10 countries (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Tajikistan, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates) applies to Hong Kong Global Accounts. Payments from those countries are rejected by the banking partner and returned to the sender.
- Transfers to mainland China over local rails require a declarant (a Chinese citizen aged 18-70 who is the company's legal representative or a UBO) plus order information; the transfer limit equals orders from the previous 350 days, and only B2C/B2B e-commerce goods trade use cases are supported. SWIFT transfers to China carry no extra requirements on Airwallex's side.
- living in ILInternational transfers from accounts registered in Israel are subject to withholding tax applied by Airwallex on behalf of the Israel Tax Authority, using dedicated transfer reasons; some reasons are only available for beneficiaries in countries that have a tax treaty with Israel.
- Outgoing payouts cover over 200 countries/regions and over 90 currencies via local rails and SWIFT.
- Some currencies are only tradable or holdable by specific customer segments: MYR can be sold/held only by Malaysia-based customers; IDR can be sold and BHD bought only by customers in China and Hong Kong; AED cannot be held by UAE-based customers.

Crypto
- Airwallex states it does not facilitate transactions for, or involving, cryptocurrencies or digital currencies.
- Crypto-related business activity (cryptocurrencies or virtual currencies, crypto-assets, NFTs, ICOs, stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets) is listed as restricted in the acceptable use policy: not allowed without Airwallex's approval. The policy is bank-wide and identical across all plans.
Business activity
- Airwallex's acceptable use policy prohibits a range of activities including illegal drugs and controlled substances, counterfeit or unauthorised goods, hate speech and discrimination, Ponzi or pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing and telemarketing, endangered animal species, archaeological and cultural relics, cyberlockers, human remains and body parts, transactions with no genuine commercial purpose, offering regulated financial services without a license, and unlicensed products or services. Airwallex also reserves the right to decline anything it considers outside its risk appetite.
- A further set of business activities is allowed only with Airwallex's prior approval - restricted rather than outright banned: dropshipping, generative AI and artificial intelligence, marketplaces that collect funds on behalf of third parties (not the sellers themselves), travel-related arrangement services, live streaming, matchmaking and dating, political or religious organizations, chemicals, bidding-fee auctions, surveillance equipment, drug paraphernalia, dual-use goods, regulated medical devices, account funding transactions, quasi-cash, trust and company service providers, dealers in luxury goods, real estate agents, negative-option billing, deposit-taking or crowdfunding, buy-now-pay-later, trading services, portfolio or fund management, and insurance underwriting.
