In the fine print

Conditions from MAPePay's own terms, pricing pages and acceptable-use policy that don't fit in a table. Read in full and checked by hand.

Pricing

  • Fees and margins on this tier are negotiated individually against your expected volumes, and the final fee schedule is provided before the account is opened.
  • The tier you are placed in sets your price, not whether you are eligible. The bank does not publish which clients it assigns to its High Risk tier.
  • Personal onlyPersonal accounts have a published, fixed fee schedule, with separate pricing for residents inside and outside the EU. Nothing is priced case by case.
  • Business onlyBusiness pricing is not published: fees are negotiated individually.

Limits

  • No amount limits are published for SEPA, SWIFT or local transfers: transfer limits are set individually and are only visible once the account is open.
  • Card limits go beyond the headline amounts: up to 10 ATM withdrawals per day; e-commerce spending is capped at 2,500 EUR per transaction, 20 transactions and 2,500 EUR per day; card purchases are capped at 20 transactions per day; the card balance cannot exceed 20,000 EUR.
  • Topping the card up has its own caps, separate from spending: 5,000 EUR per day, 20,000 EUR per month and 80,000 EUR per year.
  • SWIFT transfers are not available on this tier, incoming or outgoing: the account settles through SEPA only.
  • No card limits and no transfer amount limits are published for this tier. Transfer limits are set individually and are only visible once the account is open.

Payments & transfers

  • Euro payments inside the SEPA area are sent as SCT Inst. by default, falling back to SCT.
  • PLN is collected locally through Elixir, Express Elixir and Sorbnet; outgoing payments can also use Blue Cash.
  • GBP is collected locally through Faster Payments, which is also available for outgoing payments.
  • RON is collected locally through Transfond. No outgoing RON rail is declared.
  • USD is collected locally through ACH and Fedwire. No outgoing USD rail is declared.

Opening an account

  • No list of blocked countries or payment corridors is published. The account terms refer to a prohibited jurisdictions policy and to a list of cross-border jurisdictions, neither of which is available on the website, and state that countries the bank does not serve may not appear on that policy at all, so the country you live in, or where your company is registered, can still be refused when you apply.

Licence & regulation

  • Client funds are held in segregated accounts at European financial institutions. The account is an electronic money account and is not covered by the Cypriot deposit guarantee scheme.

Will MAPePay actually accept you?

Acceptance depends on where your company is registered, where its owners live, where your money flows - and your sector. The wizard checks MAPePay's published rules on all of them, and shows you the alternatives too.
