Pricing
- Incoming SWIFT transfers can carry additional correspondent bank charges, depending on the SHA, BEN or OUR fee option chosen by whoever sends the money.
- The account itself is free and the pricing is entirely pay as you go: what you pay for is the card and the operations you actually make. The card fee covers three years of validity, so it is a one-off cost rather than a monthly one.
- Money can arrive by SEPA, SEPA Instant or SWIFT, but it can only leave by SEPA. An incoming SEPA Instant costs the same as a standard incoming SEPA transfer.
Limits
- Personal onlyAt account level there is no daily ceiling on incoming transfers, on outgoing transfers or on direct debits.
- Personal onlyTransfers to another Sogexia account are the exception: they are capped at 5,000 EUR per rolling month.
- Personal onlyFunding the account is what carries a ceiling: 1,500 EUR a day and 1,500 EUR a month in cash, 1,500 EUR a day and 3,000 EUR a month by payment card. These caps sit on the account as a whole, not on each card.
- Business onlyAt account level there is no daily ceiling on incoming transfers, on outgoing transfers or on direct debits.
- Business onlyTransfers to another Sogexia account are the exception: they are capped at 15,000 EUR per rolling month.
- Business onlyFunding the account is what carries a ceiling: 3,000 EUR a day and 9,500 EUR a month in cash, and 3,000 EUR a day by payment card. These caps sit on the account as a whole, not on each card.
Payments & transfers
- Outgoing payments run over SEPA only: Sogexia can receive a SWIFT transfer but never sends one.
- For international transfers outside SEPA, what counts is where the other side banks, not where the other side lives: the account of the payer (money coming in) or of the beneficiary (money going out) has to be held by a payment provider located in an eligible country.
- The countries you can send money to and the countries you can receive money from are two different lists, and the gap between them is not symmetrical: Germany, for instance, appears on the sending side only.
- Sogexia's own documentation disagrees with itself on where an incoming SWIFT transfer can come from: an older support article limits it to the European Economic Area, while the country list updated in 2025 also covers the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan and Singapore.
- The account is opened on a Luxembourg IBAN. A French IBAN can be added on top for holders domiciled in metropolitan France or in the DROM-COM, but the issuing of new French IBANs is suspended for the time being.
- The French IBAN is in any case not available for Nouvelle-Calédonie, Polynésie française, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, TAAF, Wallis-et-Futuna and Saint-Barthélemy.
- The French IBAN is a limited-use payment account: it can only take in transfers and SEPA direct debits, it carries no card, and whatever lands on it is swept instantly onto the main Luxembourg account.
- SEPA B2B direct debits can be collected from the account once the mandate is registered, but Sogexia does not issue direct debits itself and holds no SEPA creditor identifier (ICS).
Crypto
- Activities linked to crypto-assets or to virtual currencies sit on Sogexia's list of prohibited activities, and that list is presented as indicative rather than exhaustive: each application to open an account is reviewed case by case.
Business activity
- Beyond the sectors it lists as refused, Sogexia also turns away legal structures or arrangements that lack economic transparency, activities at high risk of money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud or circumvention of international sanctions, and any activity that is illegal or contrary to the applicable regulations.
Licence & regulation
- Sogexia is a payment institution and not a bank: it grants no credit, allows no overdraft and offers no savings products.
- The website and the contract are governed by Luxembourg law, even though Sogexia also runs a French establishment authorised by the ACPR.
Will Sogexia actually accept you?
Acceptance depends on where your company is registered, where its owners live, where your money flows - and your sector. The wizard checks Sogexia's published rules on all of them, and shows you the alternatives too.
