In the fine print

Conditions from Zen's own terms, pricing pages and acceptable-use policy that don't fit in a table. Read in full and checked by hand.

Pricing

  • Crypto top-ups cost 0.50% and crypto transfers cost 2.00%.
  • Crypto top-ups and transfers both cost 0.50%.
  • Business onlyFor business accounts, ZEN states that pricing can be more or less favorable for higher-risk or higher-turnover clients: the published price is not necessarily the one you will be quoted.

Limits

  • Daily cash withdrawal and daily purchase limits are advised limits set by ZEN, which you can change yourself in the app and ZEN can change for security reasons. No figures are published for them.

Payments & transfers

  • Some supported countries can be reached only for EUR payments over SEPA, not in other currencies: Albania, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, San Marino, Vatican City, Saint Barthelemy, and Saint Pierre and Miquelon.
  • Business onlyZEN's Payments/Collections On Behalf Of (POBO/COBO) service applies a longer country blacklist than a standard account, additionally blocking countries such as Botswana, Cambodia, Pakistan, Panama, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and Uganda, among others; this extended list applies only to POBO/COBO, not to standard payments.

Crypto

  • Crypto works as a fiat on/off-ramp: the ZEN account holds only fiat, and crypto is exchanged to and from EUR through external providers.
  • Crypto is available only to customers of ZEN's EU entity (ZEN.COM UAB).
  • Crypto is handled by an external partner rather than provided by ZEN directly.
  • Crypto is available only to accounts under ZEN's EU entity (ZEN.COM UAB, Lithuania), not the UK (ZEN-UK Limited) or Singapore (ZEN.COM PTE.) entities.
  • Crypto is handled by an external partner: ZEN moves only fiat and the account holds no crypto balances.

Business activity

  • Business onlyRegulated business verticals such as gambling, forex, crypto, CBD, and vaping are accepted only if you hold the required license, and each application is assessed case by case; unlicensed operators in these areas, including unlicensed payment service providers, are refused.
  • Business onlyFor alcohol, cigarettes, and tobacco, only home-made production is prohibited; licensed sellers of these products are not.

Countries & residency

  • The entity that holds your account depends on your region: ZEN.COM UAB (Lithuania), an e-money institution licensed by the Bank of Lithuania (e-money licence No. 35), serves the EEA; ZEN-UK Limited, authorised by the FCA, serves the UK; and ZEN.COM PTE. LTD., authorised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, serves Singapore.

Sanctions

  • Payments to or from the Ukrainian regions of Crimea, Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia are also prohibited.

Will Zen actually accept you?

Acceptance depends on where your company is registered, where its owners live, where your money flows - and your sector. The wizard checks Zen's published rules on all of them, and shows you the alternatives too.
